From women to women, Persatuan Wanita UTS recently visited 42 incredible single mothers in conjunction with Mother’s Day and the Pre-Gawai Celebration on 30 May 2024. Our delegation was warmly welcomed by the esteemed tuai rumah, Madam Catherine Tamoh Liom, who is also the Chairperson of Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Wilayah Tengah Sarawak (PITWITS).

 

During our visit, we had the profound opportunity to connect with these resilient women, learn about their daily lives as their family head and their preparations for this Gawai celebration. Their strength, courage, and unwavering dedication to their families truly inspire us all.

 

To show our appreciation, we brought them goodies and also carnations to symbolize eternal love and a mother’s sacrifice. The visit concluded with a simple tea time gathering while watching their kids play games, marking the end of our bonding session.
